I'm a big fan of the all inclusive for honeymoon. No details to worry about, just sit around the pool/beach, eat and drink as much and as often as you want. My son is getting married in May and that's precisely how we went for him and his bride to be.
How awesome for your son! After a bunch of wedding hullabaloo, the bride and groom are looking for relaxation. I don't know how you improve on an all inclusive. We we married in Jamaica at an all inclusive. It wasn't opulent, it was Caribbean and bohemian. But we didn't worry for anything.. unless you left the resort. We also did an all inclusive, Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. It was nice. The food just ok. But the resort was huge, lots of restaurants. Not sure the all inclusive is our jam at this stage but I highly recommend for a honeymoon.
St. Lucia appears to have some really nice all inclusives and maybe not as gritty as the DR or Jamaica.
