I’m not on Alabama power anymore but when I was my bills weren’t that high for the size house I was living in,my friends bill this moth was almost $800 which is insane, what pisses me off is at my house now my water, sewage and garbage bill are combined and it’s more than my power bill each month.

Just looked at ours and it’s sitting on $384 with a few days left in the billing cycle. I was expecting it to be a lot more. It is consistent to what it was last year. We leave our heat on 68.

Not APC but Georgia Power all Southern Co. Funny one of the Korean parts plants in West Point called the power company in to negotiate their bill. They found out real quick no ticky no washy. Got doubt, start recording the kwh on your meter.

Mine has not changed much; if any, in last 3 years? Mine stayed reasonable for 3 or 4 years and about the same price. We built this house and the power bill was great and then it started going crazy. This last cold snap we had I put my thermostat on 62 and heated with gas logs. Bill went up and they told me it was because it was so cold for so long, I told them what I had done and my heat pump didnt run much because I used gas logs for heat and they just looked confused and said it must have been something else or I didnt use them as much as I thought I did.

My bill was up 50 bucks from a year ago and I used way less kilowatts too. Alabama power is ranking us over the coal because of the cost of there new Nukes and some other things that didnt work out well fro Southern Company

I was told Katie Britt’s husband is a lobbyist for Alabama Power I've heard the same. If so, this movement will cook her sorry ass.

They also have a 5000 acre hunting preserve in 5 Points below Orrville they have to fund. I’m sure the land was paid for long ago but they gotta run the house and plant plots etc etc etc.

I was told Katie Britt’s husband is a lobbyist for Alabama Power Before joining the lobbying firm, he was an Economic Development Representative for APCO.

According to Google it's 11-13 cents per Kw on average and up to 30 cents per Kw in the summer. Y'all know I ain't good with math but some of y'all are so cipher away.

I'm actively looking for a monitoring device to show me daily, hourly, monthly, yearly usage so I can track it. If it's not exactly like their readings, I'mma lawyer up somehow someway.
I found one on Amazon. Looked promising However, it stated it could do things I see no way to actually do, which makes me distrust it.
Monitor connects to both hot lets and monitors usage. But also claims it can tell what exactly is using the most power. Without it being connected to each breaker, I see no way that can happen. So I'm holding off for now.
But I also know ALDEER is a great resource to find a solution.

If you live around one of the (was) coal-fired steam plants, you should have known this was coming. They had to spend millions, if not billions, converting them from coal to gas AND running the gas pipe overland to supply the plants. And I imagine all that was done to meet environmental regulations put into place by those elected. The only ones coming out of this without a smile is those of us in the middle.
