For what its worth, ive been hangin a locon for..like dang near 15 years..and climbin trees with a single stick and rock climbin harness..i will probly never use a climbin stand again..unless its on private land

What is the lightest, and most comfortable climber you guys have used?
I like an ol man, and buckshot, and my favorite out of all of them but it is very bulky but light
Is a cougar claw....
Just curious. Looking for a lightweight climber for public land.
And NO I'm not going to use a saddle.
I have looked in to lock ons, and sticks, but they just seem like it would be alot of work to put on the tree, and get in and out quietly
And alot of work to take down after hunting. Quit being a candy ass and get you a saddle set up
We will burn that bridge when we get there

There are some comfortable ones, my brother has one thats pretty nice to lean in. I have a arsenal cloud air, you wanna talk about lightweight, its the lightest of all the saddles..it weighs 11 ounces…an it will fit in your poket..but its definitely not the most comfortable..just like my 6lb lock on wudnt as comfortable as a big ol millennium…you can be comfortable..or competitive…cant be both..but you can get close.

I had an open shot, the seat sits to close to the tree to be comfortable for me. I have the XOP climber that the new model replaced, and I like it, however some of the nuts and fasteners are problematic. It also sits to close to the tree to be comfortable for a long sit for me. A Lone Wolf would be the same as the XOP. I have an old ole man, its light, but I don't find the mesh seat comfortable. It certainly sucks in cold weather.
I also prefer to have something in front of me. I have an Aluminum Viper and its pretty good. I upgraded the seat to a slumper that his thicker. I can sit in it for long periods, although it is a little tight for me, I am 6'3''. A goliath might be a better option.
The summit cable system is the noise generator for their stands. And it can hang a little low when on your back. I have an older steel viper, and its heavy, but its also bigger and quieter to set up and take down.

My mobile climber is a stripped down viper with a Hazmore seat. Took off all the pads, and wrapped it up with stealth tape. Replaced the straps with an XOP Transport System and I can walk a long ways without being fatigued. I’m sure there are lighter out there but this works for me.

Is Cougar Claw still in business? I' not really sure. But i know they are really really light! And comfortable! They just make a hell of a racket toting them in because they arw so bulky
