Other than Aldeer goobers discussing it , a chart or map that shows 24.7 deer per sq mile, statewide, is useless.
Yep. The average means absolutely nothing over an area that large. Local habitat conditions are needed to know if an area is supporting the density that’s present. I don’t even care how many deer are on the landscape when doing consults. I am only concerned with “Is this habitat supporting the deer that are here.” All that’s needed.
