Keep in mind that number is an average and includes EVERY square mile of the state. There are some places that have zero deer.
That's right , how many square miles of water, buildings , asphalt and concrete. Not to mention they don't stay in open fields 24 hours a day . 24.7 per acre sounds like a lot to me , when for the most part they live in the woods.
