Them 2 month old squirrels eat a lot better. Old tough buck squirrels eat like boot leather. Young uns for the fryer, old uns for dumplins (as per my grandad back when he was still here). Shot a "mature buck squirrel one time, had a set of balls that would make a grown man jealous! People tried several ways to cook, dogs would not eat it was so tough

I killed a true 5-1/2 month old skwerl and I'm having trouble with the skwerl-check app on my phone. I'd post pics but I'll have to swing by the taxidermist and take some more. I was accused of long fingering in the pics so I want some that are more true to size. I should get the meat back from the processor Friday.

I am so upset!
I can't believe how often I see some dad take his kid out and let them shoot a bunch of young buck squirrels! I mean it's obvious those squirrels are 2.5 months old or less. It just makes me furious! I mean why wouldn't you wait for that squirrel to get to at least 3.5 months old. Also the squirrel needs to have at least an 8 inch tail! There is no excuse to shoot a squirrel with 7 or less inches of tail. I'm telling you we need mandatory QSM squirrel counties!
And another thing, how can anyone shoot a button squirrel and think it's a female? After all, all you have to do is run the squirrel down, turn it over and look!
A true trophy squirrel hunter knows that a buck squirrel big enough to shoot has to hike his rear end up while running around just so he can clear the tree bark!!
That's the squirrels you should be looking for.
I mean anybody can go out and shoot a1.5-2.5 month old squirrel. It takes a true seasoned hunter to find that big buck squirrel. That’s the reason Alabama can’t have trophy squirrels cause nobody lets em get old enough. People wouldn’t believe what kinda squirrels Alabama can grow. I see em all the time. Only me a few others have it figured out though. Here is a chart with arbitrary lines and made up numbers 📊 This proves im right I love it. Just can't have "nothin" good anymore!!!!

Would ya'll score this one for me? Little scrawny but still ought to rate pretty good. Shot placement was off but I was shaking so much (buck fever I guess) this was the best I could do. And don't even bother asking about any hunting tips or location. Just wasting your time. Also noticed that no one has posted any photos of their trophies. Lots of talk though.
