I'm about to move and at my new place, the only internet I will be able to get is Starlink. You guys who have it, what streaming service do you recommend? I don't need all the big movie channels. I would like major networks, local TV, and ESPN.

We use YouTube TV for our streaming.
We also use T-Mobile Home Internet.
Much cheaper than Starlink.
I pay $45.00 per month for the T-Mobile and have a 5 year price lock guarantee.
It works pretty well so you might want to look into it.
I have had issues with it a couple of times and it turned out to be tower issues both times.

I've heard good things about Starlink, but can't speak from experience. We use YouTube, but by all accounts Hulu is comparable or better (specifically with Disney (which I don't want)).

No issues with starlink. All three girls are watching different crap now and I'm posting here on it. Otherwise we'd be screwed and sitting around a fire and actually talking and stuff.

I use a mini with the roam unlimited plan at our camp. Have had 3-4 guys on it at a time along with streaming Hulu and have had no issues. I’m sure the residential would be even better with the increase in performance. My download speeds are consistently >175mbps.

We have Starlink at the cabin. I installed it in about 30 minutes on the peak of our roof that's about 40' off the ground, taking my time and being all anal retentive about it. It works great. It's at least as fast as some fiber optic I have used. Never any issues with it. It just works.
The installation is pretty straight forward. You just need a pretty clear sky around your mounting location or else your results may vary.

Based on our experience for the last 3 years, we will never subscribe to any internet service other than Starlink. We use an Amazon Firestick, and add/subtract other services as we want them.

I don’t know what streaming services my family uses, I know we have starlink and antenna for regular channels. Starlink is very high quality. I would recommend you go ahead and buy the longer cable, because almost everyone needs it to get high enough for a clear view

I don’t think starlink would have any bearing on what streaming service you should use. Just use whatever one you were using in your old house.

It doesn't but I'm not using a streaming service where I currently live. I'm on Charter cable so I'm not familiar with the others. The way Charter is with constantly raising their prices, I absolutely despise them. They are my only option at the current location though, other than Starlink. Starlink will be my only option at the new location.........it's in the woods.

I have it at the camp and it works great. We have a metal roof and cell service was awful. Installed it in about 45 minutes, I also added a TpLink mesh for stronger coverage in some rooms. It will run the 4 tvs at the same time (youtubeTV) plus I can access our cctv cameras when we arent there. Also have our AC thermostats connected so I can make sure the last person out didnt forget and leave heat on 70* for a week with nobody there.
I also have the mini version that I use with my charity. Im part of Here to Serve, a faith based charity that provides free meals to disaster victims. Usually hurricanes and tornados but we just got back Tuesday from Oxford MS. Most of these disaster areas have bad cell service and starlink is a huge deal for us. To communicate with families back in Tuscaloosa, place extra food orders and allow the people we serve to use it as needed.
Starlink is awesome.

I've been on Starlink for 2 or 3 years at the house and love it. Little pricey, but it's worth it compared to the cheaper options I have at my house. I stream YouTube TV and also beam my signal to am FIL's house 600ft away with a Deco mesh wifi system and he streams TV with my Starlink too. Heavy rain can knock it out for a minute or two once in a great while, but it's getting less and less the more satellites they put in the sky.

At the cabin we don't have any streaming services besides Amazon Prime and our YouTube Premium. Between the two of us we usually find something on there that we want to watch. We both have several YouTube channels that we like, because they are real videos made by real down to earth people doing fun and interesting stuff. If there is something on conventional type channels, like special events, sports events, etc... That we want to watch, I will pay $4.99 for Sling and get access for 24 hours. So far I have done that about twice. We have a free app on our TV called Hayseed where we get all the local news channels and for weather we just check out James Spann on YouTube or go online to NOAA. Just about any movie we care to watch we can find it on YouTube or Amazon either included with our membership or for a few dollars. Down here at the beach house we have Cable TV, WIFI, garbage service, water, property taxes, insurance, grounds, pools, hot tubs, tennis courts and exterior maintenance on all the units included with the monthly COA fee, but we still rarely watch the provided cable TV. I'm old now and I easily get confused by more than one remote. I like the simpleness of the Roku remote with like 5 buttons on it. I bugs me to see a remote that looks like a scientific calculator.
