End of an era. I remember when Mark and his Dad (Moe) bought the place. Before then it was Blake’s Rod and Gun Shop. Have had a lot of good memories of that place. Spent a whole lot of money there too!!! Knew it was bound to happen. Still lots of good people that work up there and try to make the customers happy.

Surprised they kept it this long. It will be interesting to see how many of the old staff sticks around.

I've done numerous flooring jobs for Mr Mark at his store and hunting cabin. He was always very good to me. Hate seeing an end of an era but honestly surprised it took this long to sell.

Maybe the new owners will do something about their snooty employees that can’t be bothered to assist a customer unless it’s one of their buddies or they look like a doctor or lawyer

I've been there many times and it has almost always been when I have left work. I work maintenance and dress accordingly, usually old jeans, a pocket tee and steel toes, all that look well worn. I have never had a problem with a snooty employee or bad service. You have mentioned this before. I'm sorry you've had a problem, but I've never seen it from Mark or Mark Jr., or other employees.

I think if you walk in and assume they are snooty, they will be. I haven't seen any of them pushy with trying to help, but they will ask if you need help or answer questions. Now, I have noticed they will acknowledge people they know, and probably spend a lot of money in the store, even while helping me. No, they don't spend a lot of quality time with "tire kickers," they have their eyes open for shop lifters a lot, too.

I've also noticed they most all have been on huge hunts out west or wherever, to make them feel more important, I guess.

All in all, it's a good store ---- It's grown so much since the early 90's when I first started going, so they must be doing something right.

I think the prevalence of online shopping has hurt the higher end more than the pawn guy with a cases of Scyys and Taurus Keltec's . If we could get PSA to make a G21/20 clone for $319.00 that would really make Glock scream in pain. And I'm Sorry but if CZ wants $699.00 for a metal 75 and you can buy a Sarnelli for $339.00 which is the same gun why not?.I see Pietta has a 6 inch Italian Python clone coming in at $1100 Mrsp.im guessing $749.00 street price Pietta makes a quality Colt clone so it'll sell. And for the love of Pete I'm tired of hearing how "in trouble" the firearms industry is. I am seeing previous $800 Ruger wheel guns for $615-645 now but it'll never go back to what it should be because they know some IdOt will pay. Don't see Components back to pre pandemic prices and nobody's making any new plants "to meet the governments needs" yeah I just felt upset this Am Rant off.

Bought my Weatherby 270 from Mark there 40 years ago. Still my primary deer rifle. They always did me right.
