The size of the food plots…..the amount of bedding cover……the deer density……

Ideally on a large property you want to have something like 40% of the acreage be in open fields full of high quality forage with maybe another 40% in bedding cover…….A lot of places have way more cover than they have food so the bedding area gets filled with as many deer as what can exploit the food sources……You really want to flip that around to where the bedding becomes the limited resource and the food is in excess….. or wherever it comes close to balancing
