I’ve got a 6.5 but wanted a long range setup. I have to have a lot of magnification to make anything much over a 250 yard shot. Got a Swarovski 4-12 on my 6.5 Mountain Ascent. Just bought a 5-25 Swarovski and dwelling on what gun to get. Thanks for the advice. Leaning towards another Kimber. I really like the lightweight. What else is out there? I’m not really wild about the Christianson Arms I’m shooing 18” steel at 650 yards with my 223 and a SWFA 6x scope. If your scope will dial, then you already have a long range setup. I’ve killed an antelope at 400 yards with my 6.5 Creedmoor and my buddy killed his antelope at 525 yards with the exact same setup as mine using my reloads. No way I could hit anything with 6x. I just ain’t that good. I keep mine on 7x and jack it to 12 if I see one over 100 yards.
