Hard to build a custom for with parts of any kind of quality for $1700. Ive been there. Currently own the Seekins PH3 in 6mm Creed. It's a lot of rifle for the money. You could always buy Tikka and drop it in a nice stock and you'd be in around the same money. But you're not building a good custom in that price range unless you do all the work yourself and shop for the very best deals on each part
