Hearing aids with Bluetooth connectivity.

Who has one? What do you feel is the best hearing aid for less than $600.00 dollars. What is a good choice at any cost?

Thanks.

I have one, which I don’t wear and should that has all the bells and whistles. But it’s way more than $600. I paid $4500 I think.

Mine are Bluetooth but certainly weren't $600. More like 7X that amount. The Bluetooth is very convenient. I just wish they were noise cancelling so I could shoot with them in. Oticon is the brand name.

I have the Oticons as well and no, they weren’t $600. If you added another zero you would be close though. Mine are blue toothed to my phone so I use them to listen to music/podcasts during boring meetings.

I have bluetooth hearing aids. They're great. BUT the hearing aid market is a farce on its face. There are only about 4 manufacturers that make ALL actual hearing aids..... NOT OTC hearing amplifiers. The OTC units amplify everything and you will hear everything, just louder with no options for adjusting different sounds/backgrounds.

My hearing declined over a few months last year and was bad before that. I believe it to be diabetes related hearing loss. About a year ago I bought Audien Atom OTC 'hearing aids' and they initially helped but they amplify everything which is a bad thing.

I made an appointment at a hearing clinic as my first move to decide on hearing aids. After the hearing test I asked for the printed graph of my hearing ability/inability and was provided with the printed copy.

..So, then, I made an appointment at Costco. The difference between the clinic test at the hearing clinic and the Costco test was eye opening, to say the least. The gal at Costco was much more informative and the test procedure seemed to be more advanced/targeted at collecting the right data to work with. I did a lot of research between when I was tested at a hearing/audioligist clinic and at COSTCO. Both graphs showed the exact same loss in each ear. One of the things that I learned is that a handful of companies make all HAs regardless of the name. Oticon Real 1, ReSound Omnia 9 and Phonak Lumity L90 checked all the boxes for me and all get great reviews. Each one has a cost of about $1850 each at the clinic x2 plus tax would cost approximately $3900 for a pair.

In my research I found that the parent company of ReSound is GN. GN manufactures ReSound, Beltone and Jabra with Jabra being the Costco branded version. The ReSound Omnia 9 is what I settled on at the hearing clinic. BUT, I discovered that the Jabra Enhance Pro30 is the same hearing aid with a different name. And instead of $3900 per pair I paid just under $1800. They have bluetooth, some AI features and a host of user options plus the in person or remote service from Costco.

So, I recommend a hearig test at a bonafide hearing clinic, get the graph printed out and go to COSTCO. You'll get the same hearing aids and save 50%.

WOW! Great information with details. Thanks for sharing.

Will have to see if our local Sam's Club offer the same thing.

Thanks for the advice Wiley.
Are any of them noise canceling? That would be a huge benefit working on the farm and in the shop.

Bluetooth HAs will pair to your phone (download the specific app for that particular HA) and you can talk hands free. You can adjust volume independently on each HA and choose different programs for background noise, music, etc. You can also buy a small transmitter that will pair your TV to the HAs. That allows you to control the volume in the HAs to suit you without turning the TV volume up and blasting everybody else. There are other bluetooth options that I haven't done anything with yet. AND, the COSTCO HA tech can remote in to your units if you have some issue that you just can't overcome and that saves a trip to the store. Also there is a 6 month trial period with 100% money back guarantee or switch to a different brand vs 60 days at the hearing clinic. It's a no brainer!

I'm not aware of any noise cancelling HAs. The best that I can do there is the ear muffs for shooting that I have and I take my HAs out when I'm shooting.

The hearing aids are mics also and transmit the wearers voice?

I have a pair and I can change the settings like crowd, church, restaraunt and such. Can't think of the name of them right now. I like them ok. They were free from the VA so I wouldn't complain about them even they were horrible.

I can't say for certain and need to research that. I do know that I've been about 20 feet from my phone and continued the conversation and I don't remember talking loud to cover the distance. I'll look into that.
My brothers are not. He puts his phone in his front shirt pocket and the phone mic works fine. He won't go back to non Bluetooth though because he like the volume adjustment from his phone.

I just checked the Bluetooth range on mine at the Jabra website. Mine are the Jabra Enhance Pro 30. They have a 82 foot Low Energy (LE) Bluetooth range and that includes smart pones. Walls and other obstructions may decrease the distance.
