He used to attend our church back when we went to Clear Branch United Methodist in Argo, AL. He and our pastor Tommy used to go fishing and drink beer together. He seemed like a pretty good dude.
I remember one of his series where he took a canoe, put it into the Cahaba River at the start of it near Trussville, AL. and took it all the way to the Gulf of America down in Mobile. If I remember that correctly. It was a great series of outdoor adventure in the Birmingham News. Of course that was back when the Birmingham News was a great paper owned and later ran by the Hansons.
