I went into a WM the other day and they had some at clearance. That's in Ga. though, hunting season's over and most of the hunting stuff is on sale.

Fuel Keg adapter. You have to use the fuel keg 1lb black tanks but they are clearly better made. . They are made to be refilled. You can bleed the air out and actually get them full as opposed to the green ones that I never could get a full tank. Has aced me a ton of money.

I've been refilling the 1lb propane bottles for the last few hunting seasons and haven't had any issues to speak of. I will stick the small bottles in the freezer for a couple of hours and bring the 20lb bottles inside the shop and allowing them to reach "room temperature" before connecting the two with the larger bottle upside down. I found doing it this way allows you to better monitor the fill of the smaller bottles (the warmer gas creates a condensation ring on the colder 1lb bottle).

I have noticed some ballooning or bulging in a few of the 1lb bottles I've refilled before so do have some concern that refilling multiple times may impact the integrity of the bottles.

I could be completely wrong in my thoughts, but I'm not sure you can technically overfill the bottles as you're essentially "leveling" a set volume of gas between the two bottles. Am I thinking through that accurately??

Tractor Supply has the Buddy heaters in a red version and a green version. They are both genuine Mr. Heater Buddy heaters made by Mr. Heater and the only difference in them is the color. The red ones can be purchased about anywhere. The green ones are available only at Tractor Supply. They are made exclusively for Tractor Supply. Both are the same price there. I bought two of the green ones a few weeks back when they had them on sale. They were on sale at a great price.

the Walmart version also doubles as a toaster, was definately a morale booster for soggy mornings on the tundra.

Only time I’ve seen Mr Heater products fail for the most part was when used with the old hoses because the hoses deteriorate and it clogs up the heater, its why a filter should be used inline with the big tanks. They have a new one now made from a different recipe, I still use a filter.

I think I’ve been using their products for 35 years or so, maybe more.

I have a hose to connect each heater to a 20 lb bottle. Works great for heating my hunting camper overnight or longer when needed. For sits at the ball field or shooting house I prefer the 1 lb bottles. They last around 4 hours and are much lighter, and easier to carry already attached to the heater than lugging around a bottle that's the size of a 5 gallon bucket and weighs 30 lbs or maybe more in addition to the heater and all of my other gear.
