Well said! Out here this evening in the rain. Sure hope my son gets one. He’s had a rough year but was willing to take off work and brave the weather this evening, and I honestly don’t care what size deer it is as long as it gives him the hunting rush and he’s happy with!

JW- I agree with do what makes you happy. A few years ago I killed a deer a little smaller than some would kill. A friend made the comment that I probably thought it was bigger than it turned out. I told him I knew exactly how big it was. I just wanted to kill it. I have reached a point whereI do try to let younger deer walk, but I still get excited when I shoot one. I will quit when I stop getting excited about hunting or the kill. My old hunting partners just quit hunting. I now hunt with a couple of younger guys that are relatively new to hunting. Both killed young 8 pts this year that were pretty young. They were both so pumped that I realized that is what it’s about. Being happy. God is good-every day!

I lov to burn some powder JW and don't hav to answer to knowbody when i do it😀 and thats a dang solid deer. Comparisons are usually not like comparison's or even fair - especially on here. Same with any type of hunting. If you dont hav lot of turkeys or hardly any - guess what - you aint killing a lot 🤣🤣

Same with deer - if you dont hav giant deer - you aint killing giant deer and there may be a ton of reasons why you dont hav em and it may hav nothing to do with you on why you dont

Either way - best to b happy w what u got! We blessed to even be able to go. We complain about this states hunting a ton - but lot of states worse off than us

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self
We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Better late than never, right? I killed this buck today at 3:15pm. I think he had just got up for his evening jaunt to check on his does. He was cruising by himself, no does in sight. As always, I give God all the credit for this buck. I’m very thankful that I get to hunt these magnificent animals.
