One trap triggered - nothing on other 4 dog sets. The 3 dp i baited all had ants in em again. Stepped in everything but tire set - got camera on that one

I sent andalusa a picture to post from last night. Just got number 28 out of a trap at pisgah. I am blessed to do this. I am the trapper for Jackson county Road dept. 1200 miles of county roads but a set yearly budget. The city of Scottsboro has problems sometimes when they can't get power board trucks to some of there lines. They called me because goodepond has floating docks and the beavers are destroying them but no guns. I have killed 21 this month with a cross bow. I usually stay in the woods deer hunting all time anyway I am 67 years old. Crossbow hunting beavers may be only second to turkey hunting lol

Well nobody ever promised me a rose garden. Headed to goose pond tonight with cross bow. Dunhams had the ambush pop up blinds for 49. Probably put me a buddy heater in in for my son-in-law and I will put my big boy britches on. Need 2 to make a county wide total of 30 for the month. Best month I ever had.

There are more castor mounds around the bank than I have ever seen in my life. I am going to be allowed to use traps after duck season. This is a strange situation I have never worked in on a job where there is not one damaged tree in sight. I asked AI did beavers eat eel grass and mill foil not a definite answer. I killed one the other night that had drug a wad of eel grass up on the styrofoam under the walk way. They are fat so they have to be eating it. Updates later
