I’m not sure it’s ever going there. It’ll be a firearm form and a nics check away, but I doubt they’re EVER like buying a magazine or a choke tube. Lol
Not a lot of gang bangers or low life thugs throwing a $1300 can on the end of the dogshit gun they are taking to kill people with, so yeah what are the libtards worried about? My hearing is shot from shooting so much in my teenage years with zero protection. I honestly didn’t care about suppression but have recently become enamored with it. Then again, I can remember a time when I didn’t understand what people liked AR’s!!!
Maybe the can builders will offer more Affordable hushers. I would buy a couple for deer rifles. My hearing can’t afford more trauma. I keep ear plugs tucked under my rifle scope ready to go.
3D printing suppressors is opening new doors performance and price wise. I wanted a Dillon for my AR but went with a Rhino X for half the price and very similar performance. Same materials, inconel and full auto rated for 6 mags in a minute. The Dillon has a better design but not another $800 difference for me.

Glad to see this. For hunting rifle applications, a suppressor just needs to work “pretty good” and last enough to check zero once per year and shoot a couple deer. Doesn’t even need to look ‘tactical’.
At under $300, most of my hunting rifles will get their own….especially if the form/NFA goes away. Wait, most of my hunting rifles already have them. I guess I’ll just buy more guns.
The day the paperwork goes away entirely is the day you'll be able to buy a "decent" one for under $100, in a blister pack, hanging from a peg in academy next to the slings and choke tubes...I've done without this long, I'm waiting a little bit longer to not have to do a bunch of paperwork, just out of principle
(well, maybe not the day but shortly thereafter).
Hopefully the next democrat president won’t undo the progress being made.

Yeah, that occurred to me too

20-30 years ago there was a company (in Montgomery?) that specialized in the Ruger 20/22 rifle and the MKII pistol. I shot them both, and they were just right. The 10/22, at any rate, had an external "shroud" the whole length of the barrel, rather than a can on the end. Pretty sure the pistol used the same technology.
I long for the day when the guns just come with barrels that have the technology already in them.
You can get that now, but only from a few makers. Liberty Suppressors and Suppressed Weapons Systems are the two I know best.
Quite a few specialty companies doing this, if you want to google it they're known as integrally suppressed. I dont know that i've ever seen one made for a centerfire rifle, but I dont see why it could'nt be done.
another option, if youre lookig for suppression without as much added barrel length is to go with an "overbarrel" type suppressor. the old surefire reflex style models were one of the most well known and Lyman is actually offering two of their rifle cans with an overbore mount. I think they're a lot more popular in other countries, never understood why they didnt catch on more over here.
There are integrally suppressed AR uppers in 5.56 and 300, for sure. Some stuff in 9mm and 45acp as well. These days, I’m not sure they work any better than a detachable suppressor, due to core/baffle designs coming on. You can save some barrel length, for sure. However, if you’re running subs, you don’t need nearly as much barrel to begin with and your range is cut down, so match accuracy isn’t often a huge concern.

Liberty makes one on a Bergara Ridge platform, called the Whitetail. It is an integrally suppressed hunting rifle available in several centerfire calibers.
I'm probably about to own one in .308.

Good choice, Cuz-Pat. We have two Liberty Whitetail rifles, when they were building them on the Ruger American platform. One in .308, one in 7mm-08, and both have stacked a ton of critters.
