GO talk to your bank. If you don't like their answer go talk to another bank. Mine was going to charge me a service charge. They change their mind when I would go talk to another bank, I have been with mine for 40 years. I called and tried that on a different issue and they said I'd have to come in to talk to someone. I don't have time to sit in a lobby for half an hour waiting to have some bullshit sales pitch thrown at me. Told them I wasn't coming in, they said they couldn't help, dropped their ass and moved to another bank.

Well I write 2 checks per year. This includes my business. 10 years ago I wrote up to 20 a day. So whiles it's B'S, it doesn't make it on my give a @#$& list....

Not if they don't take those new fangled methods. Get out of big towns and there's still a lot of " cash or good checks accepted , cash preferred " places.

Those "better" ways come with fee's that steadily strip away large amounts of cash you could use for other things. Why do you think paypal and venmo and cashapp are so profitable? Their entire business model is built on skimming.

Some folks won't take payment apps or their preferred method charges several dollars for me to use. I only use a check for a few things and that is the reason. Like most have said, I doubt I will ever need to purchase checks again and am guessing the few holdouts will accept other payments in the future.

I keep checks for certain purchases. I do not have a debit card having witnessed the trouble that can come from having them, or the info, stolen.

Tell your bank you want them to waive the fee for the checks. I’ve got them (Regions) to do that before.

If I buy something from a place that don’t take a card, or some form of electronic payment, I use cash. I haven’t had a need to use a check in 10 years. Besides a cashier’s check when buying a vehicle.
Even the farmer that sells me bulk corn out in the middle of nowhere takes Venmo or Apple Pay. Do you check writers have to write in a ledger to know keep up with how much money you have as well? Yall still have to sit down and balance your check book from a bank statement?

Debit card, credit card, checks with online banking all from the same bank makes banking mighty easy.

I decided to start paying a couple of bills electronically a couple of months ago. Direct TV took the payment out of my checking account two days in a row. The bank said I had to deal with them and they said all they could do was give me a credit for the next month. If I was living paycheck to paycheck or this was a big bill that would suck. I’ve gone back to mostly all checks again.
