What’s the point of starting a thread like this but not allowed to post pics… Couldn’t agree more! I just wanna see the pictures, that’s the main reason I joined this thing years ago,too many wanna describe and talk about em but not show the pics. The thing is already dead I have pictures of some beautiful naked women. I will not post them because I don't want people to see what Alabama produces.

It’s sad really, what it’s become. I enjoy sharing hunting experiences, success, pictures and stories. It’s one of the most enjoyable experiences I can have. It’s not just sharing my own. I love to hear others too. I could talk good hunting stories and successful kills all day every day. But, it’s obvious some of you have never experienced the trouble it causes. If you consistently kill good deer, you will become immediately hated, judged, talked about, rumored, ignored or lied about by many. Some ppl will appreciate it, but others won’t. Antlers break up families, relationships, partners, end leases, begin new ones, cause property values to increase to where they’re unaffordable to most, draw attention of investors, land flippers, and just generally create problems. It’s not the dead deer that ppl worry about out. It’s the outcome of a history of big dead deer and what it creates for the future.

I know of a place in alabama that has taken 4 over 140 and 2 over 160 this year and they do it every year it's pretty amazing.
We will burn that bridge when we get there

Can someone just draw like a sketch of it or something sorta like the police do?? I can send you a picture of the one my brother killed in Chumuckla that tdog93 was talking about. It was killed 20 miles SSW of Brewton in Florida and was definitely a freak for that area.

Oh you are exactly right...I just don't give locational cues with most of mine unless it's to my close friends. Hunting brings out the worst of people. My point is why start a thread about a giant buck yet say "oh btw, I can't show pics". It's like a tease. Also, if you own the land out right...I do not see why it's a big deal to post a pic on this site. It's not like someone will come in and lease it up from you. Lease wise, I'd just screen shot it at home for the metadata and not be in the picture etc... Social media cost me a duck spot as the other guys hunting it would post it and someone leased out from under. I definitely understand why to not post/show etc

If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, it scores a little over 160 which is huge for that area. He actually passed on that deer last year. Hmmm. “No fence……Passed him last year.” Further proving what I’ve always said. Trigger restraint and age is the key to growing big bucks. Unfortunately passing a rack buck is something that 95% of Bama hunters cannot force themselves to do. There’s not a genetic problem anywhere in this state that I’m aware of. What there is, is a massive age structure problem, due to the overly excessive amounts of young bucks being killed before they reach maturity and high-grading 80-90% of the herd before they reach 4 years old, with most being killed at 2 or 3. Congrats to the guy on what sounds like a great buck for SA. I heard he e-checked it as a doe

I have antlers hanging on the wall and you know what they have gotten me? Absolutely nuthin'. If you boil it down to it's basic form as to what they are actually worth and what they add to your well being in life as a tangible item, they are basically worthless. Yet, we will spend countless dollars and destroy relationships in pursuit of them.

I guess I don't understand why it would be OK to say "near Evergreen" and "160"+" but not post a pic.
If the guy doesn't want his face in the pic, I understand, but what will a picture tell us about the deer that we don't already know, other than let us enjoy the animal vicariously.

I know of a bunch of 160-200” deer killed this year in AL, free range. They’re all killed where ppl can let deer walk without fear of them getting blasted before reaching 5-6 years old. AL can produce some giant bucks. The hunting culture here is why we don’t more often. I saw a pic last week of a absolute stud 4X4 with a big kicker that came off Skyline . We've had some dandies killed , but this one , even as a 4X4 was next level. I don't think I ever seen one that "carried" the mass better. The tines were as thick as most good bucks main beams. It had Canadian mass.
