I can watch every YouTube video there is on fishing a specific body of water. I mean even the most recent videos. The ones made yesterday. I can take that information, head to that same body of water and fish with the exact same baits, fishing them the exact same way and not catch crap. I am not a bad fisherman and am certainly not inexperienced as I have been bass fishing since my high school days and I am now 53yrs old. Location, location, location. It means a lot!
You can't catch bass if you're not on bass. Just like you can't kill a 140" buck if there isn't one in the area. For all the fishermen that get discouraged when not catching fish, keep your chin up and don't give up. Everyone has days they struggle catching fish. You can't catch 20, 30 or 40 on every trip.
If you claim to be a Christian then why do you act like the devil? You will be known by the fruit you bear!

I've always heard "90 percent of the fish are in 10 percent of the water." Makes sense.

I have often felt like I was fishing where there just weren't any fish, so I have finally stepped into the 20th century (that's not a typo) and added some electronics to my boat. Granted, it's just a used hand-me-down 5" Lowrance Hook, but it's got sonar and DI. It's certainly not Livescope/FFS/etc, but at least I won't be flying totally blind. Just gotta find time to get it on the water and learn how to use it

I've always heard "90 percent of the fish are in 10 percent of the water." Makes sense. And 10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish caught. Back when I used to fish a lot, I had a much better catch rate per amount of time fishing than I do now. I usually knew what I was likely to catch at the specific time, where to find them and how to fish for them. Now when I do get a chance to go, I'm just guessing what phase they're in. Pre-spawn, mid-spawn, post-spawn, summer pattern, Fall transition, winter pattern, etc.? Lots of variables to adjust for. How's the water temp affecting them? Moon phase? Fishing pressure and boat traffic? Oxygen levels? Current? The more often you're there, the easier it is to connect the dots.

The unproductive members of society who fish 6 days a week are at a huge advantage. At least in fishin'.

Being able to look forward or to the side with sonar was a big bump. The cone coverage when you are looking down in shallow water is pretty small. But that's all we knew. That, and a big ole time lapse. I even owned an old paper scratcher years ago on Lake Michigan. Put off a little burning type odor when on.
