Tragedy. The mother didn't mean for it to happen. She makes bad decisions. Starting with 7 kids, drugs and firearms in the home. The 4yo has to live with it and that's the real tragedy. I hate it for the mother, but she planted the seeds and watered them. I have an 8yo in my home. Have raised 2 children with firearms in my home. My son loved to shoot. Took him every time he asked. Allowed him to handle them in front of me, showing him safety and responsibility. Never had a single issues with him.

My daughter is terrified of loud noises. Hell, even the pellet rifle is too loud for her. So I took her to shoot and my handgun terrified her when I shot it. I don't ever have to worry about her getting near them. However, I also have a tad of common sense. My handguns aren't left unsecured where she or her friends could get near them and act out of curiosity.

The world would be a better place if smart people were the only ones reproducing. They made a movie about it. Idiocracy.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
