I’m certain the data did not support the extension and this must be his inference. Surely there would be no reason for the state not to want hunters to have insight into their rut dates.

Let me explain it like this……if we were to go into Clarke Co for example where the rut is pretty much all late Jan across the board and we turned loose 50 does that had a Nov estrous date…….How much competition do you think there would be for those 50 hot does in Nov when no other does were hot??

That concept is playing out in the wild in certain areas due to the way things got restocked where lineages overlap……It’s the very reason why Slayinbucks sees all of the activity he sees……His population of does is probably something in the neighborhood of 50% Dec does and 50% Jan does…..or something of that nature……But because half the doe population comes in a month ahead of the others it creates a much different buck to hot doe ratio when it happens…..especially when just a few miles down the road its 90% Jan does and nothing is in heat during Dec…..Where do you think the bucks from those surrounding areas with Jan does go in Dec??

There are gonna be properties in multiple areas around the state where these lineages overlap that experience something similar……Continuing the fetal studies would make these site specific properties more and more obvious to the public if they kept refining the map to show more accuracy……Those two little orange dots in Bibb and south Jefferson for example are prime examples of it just coming into focus
