I worked a case one time where a 5 yoa shot and killed his 2 yoa brother after watching the parents shoot at each other numerous times. We know from statements and bullet holes in the walls. The case was presented to a Grand Jury who indicted for Manslaughter as I recall. The DA then reduced the charges to Child Abuse and the couple eventually pleaded to Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Every time after that we got a new Chief they called and reported that I was Harassing them. This was Iong after I forgot what they looked like. I was getting close to suing them but they didn't have anything I wanted so their lawyer just advised them that the next step was criminal charges. I never heard from them again.
