I just got deer hunting access to over 5,000 acres of private land near Imperial, Nebraska in the SW corner. Not finding much on the interweb about quality of animals in that area. Does anyone that hunts that area have anything they can share about quality of bucks in that part of the state (whitetail or mulies)?

Never hunted that area, but did drive thru the southwestern part of the start on I-80 one time headed to Wyoming. Saw a ton of whitetail and some pretty good bucks there along the Platte river. Hopefully it will be some good ground for you. I'd definitely give it a try.

Mule deer and some whitetails. That’s flat open ground. You may hunt the entire 5000 acres from one glassing post. 😁
If there are any drainages or ravines on the property you can spot and stalk. But if you blow them out, they may not stop until the next 5000 acre property or beyond.
There’s some rios in that area if you’re into turkeys, but they gotta have a place to roost and water.

Hunted elk out west to know that drill - and an elk will run one hell of a lot further than any whitetail!!

Turkey hunted Nebraska! Seen some dang good deer come out of Nebraska
Felt like i was in another era. Drove up on a Hurd of cattle and guys on horses were driving probably a 100 cows down the middle of the highway and dudes were wearing long dark trench coats. Flat land and not many trees where i rode up on them at. Felt like i travelled back in time! Lot of bob wire fences. Prob 15-20 years ago now

No deer but you may need to take me along in case a trooper stops you for speeding or something. I'll be glad to help you look for the only few deer on that 5000 acres.

I lived there for nearly 6 years back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. I stopped deer hunting all together during those years because of the high cost, short season, and ridiculous laws at the time. Started pheasant hunting and duck hunting. That’s the only time I was happy out there. Other than hunting, I absolutely hated the place (and didn’t like the people) and have lost NOTHING there to go back looking for. You seriously couldn’t pay me to even go for a visit. Armpit of the country. BUT…my brother did kill a basket rack 5 pointer out there that weighed in at 305 lbs. HUGE bodied, corn fed, deer out there.

I will join the list of folks willing to help you hunt it.
We can take my truck, and I will also offer to pay for all fuel, motels, groceries, and whiskey/beer for a trip out there. I really enjoyed Nebraska the last time I hunted there.
