I think thats perfectly fine. I'm doing something similar. I have a small partime buisness and am able to defer all my money into a solo 401k to save taxes.

I've decided to take mine at 62 in about 2-3 months. I'm dropping retirement paperwork soon with 20 years military, and 20 years DoD civilian.

Well... With your pension from both you shouldn't have a problem.

I agree and I have explained in detail my reasoning for taking mine as early as I needed to previously in this thread, but my personal principle behind it is this...

The government took my money out of every one of my paychecks and they didn't give me a say in the matter, so I want to start getting that money back as soon as I can get it.

The government wants to bait you into waiting to take it as long as they can, because they are betting that you will die without ever getting any of it or at best only getting part of it.

Covid help prop up SS . They want ya to wait and wait some more. If you have other investments you can let ride that will make you more $ in the long run , but need some to live on, take the SS $ and run.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
