I eased down to that dock last night. Hear comes one swimming out. I light him up with my new 4000 lumen coast light and he starts swimming away. I hit him going away and the arrow was hanging half way out and he goes into a death roll like an alligator. I run over to the edge of the dock and kneel down and grab this 40-pound rascal by the foot. Then I finally get ahold of his tail with my other hand. He is twisting and throwing water and we are in mortal combat. I get his tail up and put my knee on it on the dock. then I pull the arrow out and put the broadhead in the hole and jab it plum to his throat. I look up and the lady that frowned about me is standing on the bank with her dog watching lol. I go ahead and get my crossbow cranked and here comes another one. I shoot him and he comes up out of the water and starts going around and around with the arrow hanging out of him. I glance back at her on the bank and she takes off. I text the boss and tell him what happened and he says he will handle the complaints keep killing them. I could here some making that grinding sound they make under me. I lean over and look under the dock and there were 2 more up on top of the Styrofoam. They had chewed a big hole all the way through it and were in the space between the cement and the Styrofoam. They have to breathe air so that gives me an ideal. I am going down there in one of my kayaks and slowly paddle around every dock and try to head shoot them with the pellet gun. What do you think of that plan lol
Great story!! Keep up the good work and keep posting!! Add a photo or two as well!

They feed heavily on vegetation not just bark. Especially cat tails and another aquatic plant. It has a bloom that looks like a cigarette with a yellow tip. Can’t remember its name

Well it is a new one for me. I just been doing this for about 5 years. That kayak ideal sounds like more fun than eating buggers

You would be surprised how close you can get to them when you are on the water. They don’t know what you are in a boat.

That second one is from my county run. You can tell by the ground how many buzzards check that spot. They had actually pulled the 2 traps off the rebar stakes and were eating them out in the grass.

Some places it is safe to shoot different weapons. The old 06 will Drt them. 00 is impressive also. My favorite is turkey loads. Buy up some of the slow sellers on clearance. Ruger single 6 in 22 magnum is fun too

Well I shot 2 different ones tonight that had an arrow in them. It finished them off but it takes a lot of power to kill a beaver. I need to put out some snares and see how it performs
