Harold, has gamecheck even been around long enough to compare averages? What is the average? And how do you know that compliance isn’t increasing annually? I still talk to ppl who don’t even know there is such a thing as gamecheck. Are harvest rates increasing or is gamecheck compliance increasing? We don’t know and won’t know.
The average that its compared against is the last five seasons…..Compliance could be increasing but when looking at GC compared to the hunter survey it would appear to have leveled out which makes sense….I posted those numbers up twice about 3 weeks ago……. After a certain time period those who use it are going to and those that don’t will not…..We’ve reached that point…..There’s not a significant difference anymore from year to year……At best it would be very minor
Even if it were increasing though you still have counties that are way up and counties that are way down and some that have stayed the same…..If you’re gonna chalk up the increases to more compliance then that means those counties that are down are even worse than indicated……I don’t think its coincidence either that the ones that have remained the same over the last five years are some of the best counties on the western side of the state…..Despite what some folks will perpetually argue, I think GC is showing us annual “change” pretty dang accurately…….
