The average that its compared against is the last five seasons…..Compliance could be increasing but when looking at GC compared to the hunter survey it would appear to have leveled out which makes sense….I posted those numbers up twice about 3 weeks ago……. After a certain time period those who use it are going to and those that don’t will not…..We’ve reached that point…..There’s not a significant difference anymore from year to year……At best it would be very minor

Even if it were increasing though you still have counties that are way up and counties that are way down and some that have stayed the same…..If you’re gonna chalk up the increases to more compliance then that means those counties that are down are even worse than indicated……I don’t think its coincidence either that the ones that have remained the same over the last five years are some of the best counties on the western side of the state…..Despite what some folks will perpetually argue, I think GC is showing us annual “change” pretty dang accurately…….

Look at Limestone Co for example Matt…….Here’s the trend line for buck harvest over the last 5 years starting with last years harvest working backwards in time

Limestone .....1581…….1401 ……1325 ……1138 …….1187

Now this year they have fallen off a cliff and are on pace to possibly have the lowest harvest in 6 years……That doesn’t have anything to do with compliance....Meanwhile lets look at say Fayette county during the same time period. Now this season y’all are right on pace for another average year……You see what I’m getting at here……If you’re gonna chalk Limestone up to better compliance then that means Fayette has actually fallen way behind…..which as you know probably isnt the case…..This increase in Limestone is because hunters shot more

Fayette .....1671……1588 ……1603 …..1494 …..1777
