Matt will deer leave Pine Plantations/Cutovers areas with very few acorns to find acorns in more Hardwood Dominated areas.. I guess I have never gave this much thought until We have a bumper crop like this Year.
They won’t “migrate” per se, but they will certainly move to areas within their historically used range based on food type and availability. Deer are incredibly loyal to an area, even when resources become scarce. They’re also prone to stick tight to seasonal food sources they prefer. It’s shifted a lot of their movements and travel this year.
