Do you have any graphs to prove this?

Land fragmentation is the biggest factor in killing
to many deer.

It can’t be stopped.

Large acreages of privately owned land will always
protect the deer.

Give me a solution. It exists but 90% of deer hunters
will raise Hell

Wooo boy, a few months ago I mentioned landowner tags based on minimum acreage (owned or leased) like some western states and realized quickly I should keep quiet here…not popular at all. I like the states that give more regulatory weight to the makers instead of the takers.

Y'all ready to pay BIG $ for those unused landowner tags?

This sounds like a bunch of Democrats , busy working on solutions for problems that don't exist.

I think it’s exactly the opposite. The current system is like the Marxist factory worker demanding that all share equally in production profits.

CNC, we have wild weather swings every year, yes. The timing though matters on how it affects harvest totals. When it’s warm on opening day, weekends, holidays, etc it impacts harvest.

Deer are literally everywhere now, and they were not a few weeks ago. Pretty consistent too. As the breeding season approaches in other areas of the state, I think they’ll realize their deer didn’t go anywhere either. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think the peak rut weekends are probably the only ones significant enough to potentially impact season totals…..For a large part of Alabama the 3rd and 4th weekend of January along with the first weekend in Feb will be the most important ones. I would bet though that on most given years you probably have one poor weather weekend out of those three…..so there really isnt a whole lot of change as far as that goes……If all three of those weekends were rained out or really hot then we might be talking about a significant impact from such…..Of course there’s gonna be some areas of Alabama where these 3 weekends with be during other time frames

They won’t “migrate” per se, but they will certainly move to areas within their historically used range based on food type and availability. Deer are incredibly loyal to an area, even when resources become scarce. They’re also prone to stick tight to seasonal food sources they prefer. It’s shifted a lot of their movements and travel this year.

Mine is a small property and they can Migrate to both places easily amd do
Traditionally a lot of My bucks hav always come from my neighbors hardwoods - i don't hav many food trees and bucks hav disappeared. My front 85 acres is all thick prob 8 year old pine thicket and neighbor hardwoods border that - a long curvy road runs through thicket not to far from hardwoods amd eventually goes to big timber on me. I hav a long sliver strip of HW that is canyon ravine like that runs along that road and Many areas they can come from to get on me

Most of my big timber is thick pine

It was night and day difference from the warm days after Christmas where only a couple deer were seen to the past few days where deer were moving everywhere at the camp. Most movements were in the mid to late morning but they were moving. My guy told they saw deer every time they hunted.

My long-range weather guy is saying the data is showing, that we are having one more dip in cool air coming down next weekend, after this warm week. Then we go on another warming trend and might stay there.

Serious question....Alabama has 1.3 million acres of public hunting land. Who gets those tags and how many would each person get? Also on leased land, would tags be issued to the owners and passed on to the people leasing? What would be the minimum acreage to own to get a tag?
