Get to work this morning, and see my dads truck being towed into my office parking lot. He had left the local hardware store and it just died, I suspect fuel pump. At lunch, I run to my brothers to get our car hauler and winch, so I can get his truck out of the parking lot and to the shop. Get there, and our 3 month old trailer has a flat right rear. Get it aired back up, and the tow straps loaded up. Arrive at the office and get the truck pushed back so I can get the trailer lined up to winch it on. Hook the battery up, and free spool the winch out. It was at that point, I start looking for the winch controller. It's of course no where to be found because it's in my brother's toolbox who is duck hunting in Oklahoma. Accepting defeat, I said well since I am hooked up to it I'll run by the tire store and get the tire fixed. They closed. Just damnit.

I have been on a month long rip of such situations. Everything I touch goes to shit or can't be completed for one reason or another. I told the wife I'll revisit the pile of to-do's next month. Once the pattern has shifted to someone else.

I tell my son pretty often, "were gona get in a mess, you just gotta know how to get out of it, preferably 3 or 4 ways". Seems like we stay in a perpetual mess. Just got alot going on i guess and try to do as much as we can ourselves. Just gotta have plenty of tools and a backup for everything. Thats what i traded an hourly job for. I dont regret it a bit but now and then i think it might be easier to clock in at 9:00 and out at 5:00

That pretty much sums up any attempt I make at fixing anything ESPECIALLY plumbing.

This is everyday for us logging . Very few days everything goes smooth . Very few . When u have 20 pieces of equipment something breaks every day. I have infinite patience.

The older I get, the less I let bother me. But this sent me from rage to laughter, because you can't make it up. Comedy of errors. Did what we should have done all along and got a roll back. Truck was gone before I took the trailer home and got back to the office. rofl
