I think if I had to do a medium range short barreled rifle, I’d like to have the .338 Federal running the 180gr Accubonds at around 2600-2700fps our of a 20”barrel. I think that would be a thumper. However no one offers rifles made for this cartridge anymore. I am thinking of a barrel swap in my old Savage 308.
35caliber.com, buy .243 and have it rebored to .338.
