Happy New Year Aldeer folks! In Bullock watching a powerline plot that’s had some activity lately. Had a decent buck on camera here at 230am. I’m mainly looking for a doe today tho. Dang wood ducks splashing around and squealing at the pond edge are making a big racket. Imma solve that issue next week. Saw 2 good rack bucks and several does on ride in.

Had an 8 point chase a doe past me down through the hardwoods.
About 10 minutes later She crossed the road bed I am sitting on.
When he tried to cross it I popped him.
He’s a standard three-year-old 8 point. Number one down

Had a real good morning hunting with my brother. He hasn’t deer hunted in almost 15 years. He’s been big into duck hunting. We set up about 350 yards apart on the edge of a fresh clearcut. Didn’t take long for me to have a group of does and fawns come right to the base of my tree. They got spooky looking at something in my brother’s direction. I heard a few soft grunts and saw a high and tight 9 point with short tines trailing a doe. He was between us but only about 40 yards from me. Wasn’t very big and I’m down to my last buck so I left him hoping he would go my brother’s way. I ended up seeing 10 deer and he saw 7 but nothing to shoot at. Short of him killing a buck, it was a perfect morning.
