The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

If you want to change that dynamic, then be completely present and undistracted at some other time of day to listen to what she has to say and tell her to make a list so she won't forget all the things that need to be discussed.
It is a little bit of a PITA to try to have a discussion about such things when competing with all the other things going on through the day, so it is logical to choose to address those issues when it seems like there are less distractions.
I do sometimes have better luck trying to have a discussion in the car when the only other distraction is driving and he cannot just walk away to do something else.
