I process my own. I make jalapeño bacon high temp cheddar burger, cube steak, neck roasts, tenderloin whole. When i thaw out the loins, I slice 1 1/2" thick butterfly. Stuff with jalapeño cream cheese and wrap in bacon. Then charcoal. If im half way healthy I will not use a processor!

Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

If they are using the 25lb “store bought” seasoning packets and having to use different people’s deer meat to make a batch of sausage is another strike against that processor for me. No way I’d let that fly!! Heck even I can figure out how much Leggs seasoning to put in 10lbs of sausage meat or whatever amount under 25lbs and I’m just a dumb Coonass from North Lowry Louisiana.

They’re basically all using packaged seasonings. You might better stick to doing your own or you’ll be seriously disappointed.

I had my own processor business for a couple of years. I cleaned and cut my fair share of deer. After dealing with crappy hunters who thought they should get 100lbs of meat off a 80lb doe I said screw it. Plus it was cutting into my own family and hunting time. I spent many of nights until 2 or 3 in the morning in my shop cutting and grinding meat for guys that only complained. I hated it and I was beginning to hate hunters. I said I would never clean another deer after that. I field dress them and gladly drop them off. I don’t care want my guy charges. He does a phenomenal job and I really don’t know how he accomplishes all that he does. He does a lot of deer. And his specialty cuts are out of this world.

I can’t imagine the poorly handled meat you had to salvage.

I know a guy that won’t take in a rank deer. If it was gut shot you better have washed it out really really good or quarter it up.

I'm like dayum. I don't want my meat hanging with that. It's warm. Reach on up there, get your little hands dirty and bloody, and gut that thing. Geesh.

Some "hunters" don't know how to, or it's just too gross for them. They need to just stick to golf.

Naw, not really.

When we had the space and time have processed deer and elk from the field to the table but not able to do that anymore. As for gutting/field dressing, have done more than I can remember. The processer we use is less than 10 minutes from or lease and for only $5.00 more he does the gutting. Most of the time his team has the deer gutted and skinned before I wash the blood out of my truck.
