Finally getting around to mounting a used Lowrance a buddy gave me. Mounting the transducer on the trolling motor, but have a dumb question...which direction should the transducer be pointing? I can't find a pic online of this exact one mounted to a trolling motor, but I've found pics of similar ones mounted both ways. If its for 2d or downimaging I dont think it matters. Way u have it in first pic looks best imo

If its for 2d or downimaging I dont think it matters Yeah, it's Sonar/DI.......no side-scan and no mapping

First picture is correct. Since it is DI only, you are only looking at what is directly below the transducer, so pointing the TM in any direction will give you the same image. I like mine because a rear transducer shows what is the at the back of the boat.
