Yeah we want immigration laws and Walmart thieves prosecuted but all that happens is the theft built into the price we pay and government doesn’t enforce immigration or they would toss out what’s here and not let anyone in period. Long story short self control is all that works and believe the majority of hunters do apply that.

Was thinking about that Goober the other day, he was last on here Late December (when he got the hammer) of 2020 and his Avatar is still the reindeer that says Merry Christmas 😌

Say what you want, Perch was a good guy. He’d get spun up quick. I’d start getting both phone calls and emails within minutes, when I’d start in on him about him and his girlfriend Hillary. RIP Larry.

Aw
Just wait until CWD gets close and your worries about corn being legal will be gone.

Then they’ll tell you to kill them all so CWD don’t

And hurry up because cheap rabbit hunting land is scarce these days.

Prolly the case. Ole Dr woods got on my bad side when he was putting down baiting. Only reason he’s down on it is because he can’t bait. That’s what I got out of that episode. Kind of like he sells grain drill but doesn’t sell grain drills.

It be's that way sometimes.

I shoot deer to eat . Don’t care if rules say 1 or 2 . Whatever I’m eating . Probably won’t kill any this yr . Someone will run over one an call me . I eat that . My freezer is full . I just like to hunt an be out in woods . Never check them in . Just drag to house an clean . Less gov knows better off I am . Can’t say I ever read the state regulations so I really don’t know . I do wish season would close jan 1 in north al so I can trap hogs. Everyone got corn piles out and they won’t come to mine .

A ot of states make you kill and report a doe to get your next buck tag. I wouldnt be against something similar. Can shoot 2 bucks, but have to shoot a doe before you can shoot your third.

Growing up in NC.. we had to affix tags on the carcass. Didn't think twice about it.

Regulations are pointless if they aren’t enforced. There aren’t enough game wardens to enforce the regulations we got. Changing them won’t make them enforceable

Wait wait wait just a minute . I thought making all processors work for the state for free would stop deer not being recorded

^^^^^^ this, If you just enforce what you already have you don’t need new laws, Trump didn’t add any immigration laws just enforced what was there, 3 buck, 2 bucks, tags, game check are all useless unless they are enforced. Already have one admitting he doesn’t game check but I bet he willingly call the GW for that trespassing, road killing poacher

I can understand your attitude and if that were passed it wouldn't bother me any. But all I am here to point out is that prior to the buck limit our hunters were already killing more does than bucks. It happened because the QDM folks had convinced hunters that was the best way to manage the resource, and I think most of us want to do that, at least to some extent. If there had never been a buck limit or the other changes, we would by now be killing way more does than bucks and wouldn't even be having this conversation.

It wasn't just the buck limit; baiting also brought us to the point of many hunters targeting nothing except the biggest buck. Baiting had been illegal for decades and the interpretation of the law by the GWs was that if you were feeding on a tract of land during hunting season then you couldn't hunt it. The responsibility for changing this falls entirely on Chuck Sykes. He came up with the crazy interpretation that the "area" was 100 yards away and out of sight. That opened the way for almost anyone to bait. After a few years of that he was finally able to convince the legislature to legalize it, but with his department getting the money for the sin tax.

I've always thought the primary function of the dcnr was to control the doe harvest, especially in those areas with a lot of small landowners. Those places need limited doe days, but that's the one thing they haven't done. I suspect the places CNC is complaining about fall in this category. I don't see any changes where I hunt; all the land around me is controlled by large clubs and their rules are far more restrictive than the state.

The one change I have noticed is that you the cameras and corn together makes every decent buck a movie star and there are dozens of people in multiple clubs trying to pattern them and kill them. I don't worry about that; our deer don't get much above 120 and that's when they get shot.

There are several on here that do that. Surprisingly enough, that same select group also always seems to be the ones that are not complaining about not seeing or not killing any deer (and they dont seem to have a problem finding or killing one, when they decide they want to kill one). Funny how that works isnt it.
