…..I just wish they would leave the part out about having to do it with a handgun…..I cant hit chit with one…… In all seriousness……I really do wish they would leave this part out…^^^^^ ..Its not needed and doesn’t really serve any purpose. Whether I have a .45 in my hand or my 30-30 on my back it doesn’t change anything about what I’m doing other than my accuracy and efficiency of putting the animal down……It’s the same maimed up deer standing 30-40 yards away in a creek and me either rounding off multiple shots from a .45 likely having to run 100 yards and do it again because deer can tote a .45 round…….or firing one shot from a 30-30 and it being done……When you actually get out there in the field doing these things some of this stuff folks come up with doesn’t make functional sense……like why I am sitting here slinging pistol rounds at this deer?? If they pass this and you gotta use a handgun, get you a 10" Contender in 30 Herrett or something similar. A deer ain't walking away from a proper hit with that gun, and it's light enough to not be a burden to carry. For trailing with a dog, the most efficient way to carry it would be a shoulder holster. That would leave both hands free to deal with the dog, and you can pull it quickly if you need to shoot. Brace against a tree and shouldn't have any problem making a proper shot on a bayed deer. That's what I would carry as a tracker, even if a rifle were legal. Just a suggestion
