Spent 7 hours in the Prattville ER yesterday just to find out I have another damn kidney stone. This one is 4 mm. My third. I guess I’m lucky. Some folks have lots of them.

But damn this sob hurts!

And before someone recommends drinking slot of beer. I don’t drink beer! LOL

I’ll just have drink a lot of something else!

Merry Christmas All!

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Never heard the beer thing... Maybe that's why at 64 years old I've never had a kidney stone. Hmmm...

Beer is a diuretic and increases urine flow to help pass the stone.

I hope they can break it up and give you some relief.

They had to get a 6mm about 1.3 years ago. That was not fun.

I've had my share of kidney stones and they'll have a feller down in the floor puking from the pain, literally! My most recent one was 11mm in August and the urologist had to go in and bust it up. I hope the OP is over his issue soon.

I have had several but have been lucky for the last 10 years. Was about 20 foot up in a pine in a climber with my worse one. Do they still give you morphine at the hospital or have they changed?

2 years ago they did. I had the litho procedure and that started moven out and I hadn’t taken a pain pill in an hour or so. It was horrible pain and I took the pain pills and numbers to no avail. Called ambulance and was given morphine at the er. The pills started working half way to the er so the morphine was just a chaser by them. I had debilitating pain for a few months after before the “crushed” 5.5 mm stone came out. The stone wasn’t “crushed”, three large jagged sharp pieces came out, after sitting in my bladder for a few months. I kept the stones and have a picture of them next to a nickel. Bout the same size. Pain I don’t want again.

My stone was 9mm and the first Lithotripsy broke it up but a piece got caught between my kidney and bladder a couple of days later. That pain was worse than the 9mm stone. Imagine having to pee as bad as you ever have and nothing comes out. They took me into surgery and pushed it back up into my kidney and put in a stent to keep it there until I had a second Litho. I was really drugged up but I remember the Dr. telling me "We pulverized it this time". Probably the best words I've ever heard.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Have you tried lemon water? I had one several years ago that they measured at 7mm. I constantly kept lemon water in my system and quit drinking as much tea and soda. When it finally passed, I could feel it moving but it didn’t hurt at all.

They had to give me Dilaudid. Morphine didn't touch my pain.

Me too, but that didn't touch it either. Toradol was the magic medicine though.

Couldn’t pass mine even after getting them busted. Doc had to go up and in with the pliers. I’m not sure which was more painful, the stones or taking a leak after the pliers went in 3-4 times. Unbelievable pain

Toradol is an NSAID and Dilaidid is an opiod. They gave me Toradol for use at home as needed. It was OK but nothing like the Dilaudid for me. Everybody is different but we all need whatever knocks that damn pain out ASAP.
