If dog trackers can use their dog to track a deer that’s not dead, bay it, “dispatch” it, after legal shooting hours, and log it under the original gunmans game check….i don’t see a problem with someone running a deer with a dog, THAT CAN AND WILL, keep his dog on permitted property…
I’m all for trackers, I love to see dogs work in any area of hunting, any species. Especially when they are very good at what they do.. just lots of grey areas in there… Well its not really a grey area, its just like many laws we have in this country, just enforced when they want to

And I wouldn’t dare call the warden on them for doing anything wrong… but you let me walk out on my own property and let the blue healer run a deer around and me kill it… neighbors be calling off the hook!!! It’s different it’s different it’s different, bla bla bla who gives a rip if it makes you happy and you aren’t harming anyone around you?

This post reminds me of the trapping post. Abunch of damn crybaby pansies. Y'all remind me of abunch of the cops and game wardens I've tracked for. Its probably alright to bend the rules for y'all some but not your neighbors in the right situation. It would be ok to bay that leg shot 160 plus inch deer for y'all but not somebody else. The one coyotes are gonna eat. You know the one we caught a few hundred yards from his last bed. I've only had one man in all these years that has told me to let him go. We couldn't get close enough for him to finish it with his bow on a bow only club. I fully respected that. The deer was never seen again and im sure coyotes ate him. At the same time we've called hundreds of tracks off because of property lines. Y'all call it what you want. At the end of the day I meet some great folks, have made alot of friends and some damn good memories. Tracked two for some kids Wednesday. Had a blast doing it and what y'all think about it doesn't even matter so go pound sand. Ridge life is definitely one of the good ones.

I can tell y'all first hand tracking dogs don't hold a candle to the sketchy crap happening with thermals and drones. I've loaded my dogs up a couple times when a drone and 5 or 6 rednecks were headed in to finish him off after my dogs couldn't track it but the drone found it. 🤣🤣 but my dogs are unethical. They didn't get the deer either but but the drone sure did chase it around after my dogs couldn't.

Guess y'all are to busy supporting some liberal football game to respond. Don't get none of that popcorn butter in y'alls eyes. I'll just keep helping folks on tips and handshakes ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/yNLVYBPx/20251217-190237.jpg)

Four rapid fire posts in a row trying to reassure yourself.....nice. You must have taken lessons from CNC. As far as the topic goes, the Alabama Deer Trackers Association has been addressing the issue as well on social media. They are calling out their own. It's not that there's just a bunch of anti-trackers that are crying about it. There's a problem and trackers themselves are acknowledging it and calling on people involved to "do better". So, you can get on here, thump your chest, call names and scream from the hill you want to die on or you can offer suggestions as to fix the problems.

This thread reminds me of the old saying- There's guys that hunt with and like us and then there's the assholes. There's only 2 categories of hunters lol.

^^^ Plenty of the A hole kind in here. The guy that tracks for me a good dude. I imagine most trackers on here are good folk. If i lived in their area i would not hesitate to use JohnV or CNC/TNT😀 I doubt john thumps his chest too much - prob just fired up on what he believes in and i guarantee he knows way more about what he does than u do!! I will ask Art on the matter - he the guy i use - he only does well over 100 tracks a year - very professional! You are gonna hav some guys that misuse there craft which may r may not bring about law changes.

I know all about Jason Smiths new group. Not something I'll support for various other reasons. I'll just keep tracking and not break the laws like I have for 10 plus years. Go listen to Jason thumping his chest, he thinks he's real good at it anyways

Nothing better than a good tracking dog/ good handler team. We called in a tracker 2 years ago. He had 2 beautiful bloodhounds. One of our guys shot a buck and we only found a couple drops blood and then nothing. The deer headed towards a county road. I asked the tracker if he could stop his dogs at any time because I didn’t want them to get on that road because traffic can be heavy at times and the locals drive fairly fast on it. He said he can terminate the track at anytime. That was one thing he really worked on with his dogs. However they jumped the buck and it ran by the tracker and he actually saw the lows brisket wound and called the track off right then. He said that deer would be fine and would probably be back in a few days. I was real impressed with the guy and his dogs. By the time he left our place it was like we had been long time friends. He didn’t want any compensation but he was well paid for his efforts. This is what hunters helping hunters should be. Not what some of the trackers are posting on Social Media. Keep that to themselves and not give the people a chance to paint all trackers with the same brush.

No there's not a "problem" though some of you want to paint it that way really badly.......One guy trespassed on someone's property and got called out for it.....Of course some goobers are gonna blow it out of proportion just because they enjoy being goobers

But tracking dogs are released and bay it, then “dispatched” as yall call it by the tracker, not the original shooter. All after dark… You can paint it any way you want to to try to make it look the way you want… I’m not against trackers at all, and don’t really care what you do with your dog, but what I am against is bitching about what I do with my dog…

Noone is catching deer that are gonna live. Usually the deer jumps up, smokes the dogs and they can't track it much more in that situation. Run into that alot with light brisket hits and hard grazes

I could care less….Its sounds like to me you’re the one bitching because some stray deer might have lived that isnt really the case
