Why hasn’t Remington released a new shotgun after the versa max?

A totally saturated market thats full of reliable well known guns at all price points I'd imagine. It'd be a hard sell to take a chance on a new Remington with so many reliable well established shotguns out there. But id go for another round of pretty wood 1100's in 20ga

Yes 1100s in 12 or 20 would be nice.

The first gen Versa Max are great shotguns but quickly fell out of favor when changes were made
I own a first gen and it is a fantastic firearm and I’ve never had a minute’s trouble with it
This thing will eat anything I put in it

Ron Spomer talked about Remington in his YT channel while shooting a new M700.
The millions they paid in lawsuits is crazy, then several bad business decisions.
Bad deal. I Would like to see a comeback.

Remington has a history of bad business decisions and marketing blunders.

Once they sold out to investment companies years ago, the end was inevitable.

With so many custom M700 action clones available, I wouldn’t consider a M700 again. The Begara and Christensen rifles are basically an improved M700 action.

I have a few M700 rifles, but won't be buying again.

Seems like if you fit a Remington, you'd rather have an Affinity these days.

The 700 was an econo model that's been out-econo'd.

Remington was quick to go the Walmart way. There was a documentary about it. Basically Walmart tells producer the price point they want and try and force the products to that price. Basically cutting quality to make it cheaper. Plastic versus metal and so forth and cutting corners to the point of it’ll do.

The trigger problems and lawsuits and then the lawsuits after sandy hook and their AR 15 Bushmaster.

The 700 action has been copied by more custom builders than other actions. There was 3 lug custom action I thought about building a rife from but bought a x bolt action that was actually a Montana Arms barreled action ((Win/M70) in 300 wsm. It was a shooter.
