As if we didn't have enough stuff to worry about these days...

The Kessler Syndrome is what could potentially happen when two satellites collide with one another, the resulting space debris causes more satellites to collide with space junk and this begins an irreversible chain of events until the entire Earth orbit is completely impassable. No more space travel. No more GPS. No more communication satellites. Nothing...

As it is right now with all the Starlink Satellites and many more on the way from SpaceX and other newly competing companies.

Right now a Starlink satellite passes within 1km of another satellite every 11 minutes. Each one has to do 41 maneuvers every year to avoid collision with another. Back in 2018 if a collision had happened scientists calculated that it would have taken 121 days before we reached critical mass and our orbit would become co completely full of space junk that space travel would be impossible.

Now that number of days has been reduced to only 2.8 days.

On a positive note... It will make it harder for the aliens to attack through our wall of space junk.

Sounds like mass panic would take place on the earth because everyone has forgotten what books are and have forgotten how to read a map to get where there going
This will be worse than the crash of ‘29

The Epstein files are due to be released on Friday, so this is pretty accurate timing.

Ground based internet would be the next "Big Thing."

I know the US Navy and the British Navy have already been working on navigation systems that don't require satellites.

If aliens wanted to end us, they'd just sit in the asteroid belt and sling rocks.

I'm not talking about a sextant, I'm talking about a system that uses the Earth's magnetic field.

They got radio buoys and sunken location repeaters too.

Is this the thread where we all go online and pretend like this wouldn’t affect us at all and that we’re impervious to such trifles as satellites? laugh

100% ^^^

Times were much better before we had all this connectivity shit.

Don't get me wrong, Youtube, forums, etc... Can be great for learning stuff, but it was still better back then.

Some of us are old enough to remember that era, or when it was tailing off. I wish I had the first phone I remember. I'd take it fishing.
