Les Miles is a Michigan Man, and he's tanned, rested, and ready. IIRC, Les had a few issues with inappropriate behavior in Red Stick.

The thing it looks like to me is that the people I know of the other persuasion don't mind if DeBoer leaves but at the same time they don't want it to look like MI is a more attractive job. They are in a conundrum.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

They are in a conundrum. I don’t care about perception. I care about winning football games. I very much dislike losing to Vandy, and inferior Oklahoma teams (twice), and Michigan with half their team opted out and playing a third string QB. His only saving grace is being 2-0 vs LSU and 2-1 against Georgia and hasn't blown an Iron Bowl yet. His overall performance has probably earned him some time but if he decides to bolt I won’t be heartbroken. The only conundrum to that would be his replacement. I’d throw a blank check at Kiffin or Cignetti, but what if both say no? What are you going to do then? Even at that, nobody knows if Kiffin has signed his contract with LSU yet except his inner circle and his agent. If he has signed it his buyout is in effect and I read it was 36.6 mil.

I would never want a low down lane kitten at Alabama. He’s a good coach but has no morals or loyalty. I used to want him but the way he did ole miss made me sick

Kiffen has not signed the contract. No money has changed hands. January 1 it all happens. This gets it in the 2026 tax year for him and the universities/donors involved.

He left his players before the season was over. That shows low or no character to me.

I don't believe the "Deboer to MI" stuff and think it's mostly just internet fodder.....but..........what exactly makes anyone think Michigan is a better job than Bama? Unless they have a significantly higher NIL budget, I can't think they've got much else going for them compared to UA

Unless they have a significantly higher NIL budget, I can't think they've got much else going for them compared to UA Expectations. Debore goes 10-3 at Alabama he's on the hot seat. He goes 10-3 at Michigan he's getting a contract extension. I don't know if Michigan has more NIL money but I'm sure Debore knows that unless Alabama can find significantly more NIL money going forward he is going to be at a talent deficit in the coming years against Texas, A&M, LSU and many others both inside and outside the conference. That isn't going to make job security any easier. Rumors are that he's definitely interested in the Michigan job and I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped knowing Alabama can't win it all this year without a running game.

Makes me laugh every time I see a fan say Kiffin is a POS for leaving. Especially when I know all the people saying it have done it themselves. People leave jobs for greener pastures. Whether it’s for more money, better amenities, or whatever, it’s what people do. I’ve done it. You’ve done it. I don’t think anyone is a POS for improving their situation.

Let's be fair......10-3 isn't the problem, in and of itself. It's which 3 they are, and how they're lost. 10-3 with 3 relatively close losses to good teams is a whole lot different than 10-3 with lazy, uninspired losses to teams like FSU and OU. If anything, I think MI's expectations are more unrealistic than Bama's....Bama's are high for good reason, MI's, not so much.

Yep...a lot of times when people come on here complaining about their jobs they are told that "nobody is making them work there" or "you can always go somewhere else". Coaches moving on are no different.

Oh, I think Debore is definitely in over his head and I think he's starting to realize it. I think Harbaugh went 10-3 his first two seasons at Michigan and then 9-4 in his 3rd year and received a contract extension. I can't imagine Debore getting a premature extension if he goes 10-3 again next year.

Deboer has now figured out that the SEC is a different type of conference. There are no cupcake teams and you are subject to lose any Saturday game that you are not fully prepared for. It goes without saying that he’s probably experienced way more pressure in the past 18 months than he has in total his entire coaching career. And unfortunately for him, it will just continue to increase. Nothing would surprise me about him thinking about leaving. Money will be similar, conference and stress will make his life a lot easier.
