For your purpose, I'd use the DNZ. Rail mounts are not superior. You have to spend some money and jump hoops to get to the same place with a rail system. Once there, the rail system is handy. But you say you wouldn't take advantage. So why bother?
The DNZ is a far superior mount to the Redfield. I mean gosh lee.
