Why would I mount a rail, and tensioned scope rings when I could go one piece ?

Then maybe the real question is the opposite....why should you even consider DNZ?
Answer:
because DNZ are mounts for people who can't otherwise figure it out. The fugly aspect is just a bonus that makes the user easily identifiable to the rest of us.
