I really do find your updated maps fascinating and informative. Please keep sharing. I don’t agree with the reasons for the harvest trend, but I do like to see it.

Where I hunt in Covington county—west of Andalusia and a second place northeast of Red Level—first place is above average (possibly an all time high) on number of deer but quality is down. Second place is about the same as last 5 years as far as overall numbers but quality is down there too

I don’t think Fayette Co is having issues……I think you’re running your normal 10% fluctuation on either side of a stable trend line……Its places like Marshall, Blount, Calhoun, etc, etc that have been running increased trend lines for harvest that are now seeing what may be a 50% fall off by the end of the year….These are the places that I think that have taken the biggest hits from corn……..That makes up a large portion of the eastern side of the state from north to south……The fall off from the increased harvest occurred last year in the southern portion and is hitting the north this season

You need to realize how statements like this make you look.

I’m hoping like a realist that has some kind of idea of how non-bias sampling usually looks… rofl …. The chances of drawing ALL one side for 16 in a row is like flipping heads on a coin that many times …….Y’all over do it and expose your hand grin ......But by all means, dont let me stand in the way of good entertainment.......continue..... laugh

You continue to make it even worse by implying there's a conspiracy to "defeat your opinion". Since you obviously believe the people opposed to you are stacking the odds, then feel free to do what you're suggesting on your side. Contact all the people who believe as you do and have them post what's happening on their places this year. You DO have some fellow believers... right???

I think that the responses are lopsided because Aldeereans are stone cold serious hunters and killers. The sissy losers that don't know how to find a deer aren't on this site to respond. They are too busy making crappy shots on inferior deer, therefore needing tracking services. That's why you get to talk to them more and get the information you have. grin

Gamecheck is not sampling hunters, it's registering kills that are reported. It is in no way, shape, or form telling you what those hunters are or are not seeing in the woods. It has no way of knowing what hunters who haven't reported a kill are seeing as well. I will keep on saying it.....there is no way of determining an accurate population of deer based strictly on how many are killed. There are too many other variables at play.

It's another variable that holds sway for sure. Add that to the other 10,000 variables to quantify and you may have theory. That, or just use game check.... rolleyes

CNC you are gaslighting us again. I don't usually start hunting hard till Christmas. I am out of meat and we eat a lot. I am kind of fired up to start early this year so I will try to help the Jackson county numbers in a few hours

OK I'll play , I went yesterday afternoon to a large plot , cool, overcast , perfect plot hunting afternoon. I saw 6, only had 4 in there at once. Two weeks ago , the last time I sat in the same spot , I saw 20+ and at one time had 14 out there. Oh my, "my deer" have all been kilt the first two weeks of season. shocked cry

I’ve been averaging 7-9 deer per hunt and I took my son a couple days ago to a plot no one has hunted all season, no pressure, and saw zero. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That tells me nothing, except I saw zero deer on that hunt.

Tells me that your neighbors and backyard hunters have killed all your deer. My condolences Matt. I know you had a lot of time and effort tied up in your herd. I really hate it for you, that they killed them all, in just the first two weeks of the season. I've still got a couple deer on my place if you need somewhere to bring your other son to kill his buck. I feel certain we can get him on a spike or buttonhead. Maybe even a 2 yr old rack deer but you'd better hurry though. I figure we will probably run out of deer (both bucks and does) on all 3 properties, sometime between Christmas and new years. They are disappearing faster than normal this year. Thinking that probably some OOS hunters have moved in and started hunting somewhere within 50 miles of me. Now that I mentioned that, I actually think that Marsh hunts within about 30 miles of the south line of one of my places, so it is probably him and his coonazz buddies blasting everything and destroying the resource. I might have to pop down there and eat some dinner with them since they killed all "my deer".

There’s been no “December lull”, that’s for sure. Great weather is the answer.
