It’s that way in Hayneville in lowndes county too except they both are thriving. Never knew they were connected.

They aren't, DG is DG, Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree. Two completely different companies . Sometimes they (DG and FD) are just like Auto Zone and Advanced Auto , right next to each other , or at least in sight of each other.

Correction , looks like Dollar Tree sold off Family Dollar just this year to a couple of equity firms at a loss.

Not surprised. DG played Dollar Tree on that one pretty good. It will be taught in business schools. DG mentioned that they were considering purchasing Family Dollar so as to compete better with Dollar Tree. Family Dollar was and still is a disaster. Dollar Tree took the bait and way over-bid for Family Dollar and bought a sinking ship that they could not do much of anything with.



Yep , DT bought FD in 2015 for 8 Billion , just sold it this year for 1 billion.
