They built a new Family Dollar right across the road from the DG by my house. It's closing already and hasn't been opened a year yet. It’s that way in Hayneville in lowndes county too except they both are thriving. Never knew they were connected. They aren't, DG is DG, Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree. Two completely different companies . Sometimes they (DG and FD) are just like Auto Zone and Advanced Auto , right next to each other , or at least in sight of each other. Correction , looks like Dollar Tree sold off Family Dollar just this year to a couple of equity firms at a loss.
