CNC feels the deer population is in serious decline throughout the state. Please take a minute and post what counties you hunt and your observations from your season so far. Maybe we can identify certain areas where there are issues, if there really are any issues present.

I’ll start. Wilcox, south Dallas, and Clarke. Been busy, only hunted two weekends so far. Seeing just as many, if not more, than in past years. Large numbers of bucks, does, and fawns on camera. Zero change where I hunt, other than I think that our fawn recruitment is actually up this year.

I've hunted two afternoons so far. Madison County.

Saw 8 does first hunt. One rode in the truck to the processor. She weighed 131 lbs so I dont think she was malnourished despite being shot near a feeder.

No sighting on 2nd hunt.

CNC, if you want to see dead deer on the side of the road, I can show you several around Madison County.

Everything seems normal around here.

South Monroe Co. Only made 4 hunts so far this firearms season. I saw a total of 37 deer in those 4 sits. By far the most deer I’ve ever seen in all my years of hunting in Alabama. Lots of twin fawns and single fawns/yearlings also.

I've hunted maybe 7-8 times so far in Alabama, mainly Tuscaloosa and Fayette counties. Seen a few deer but not any great numbers. Weather, acorns, and other factors seem to be affecting sightings. I think the numbers are still good just other variables affecting how many I've seen.

Grown the biggest deer in clarke by far than i ever hav - the stud from last hear - he grew - think he 6

A good 10 is back but i want to give one more year - he minimum of 4.

Giant body w solid rack is back - he 6 or 7 yr old and he pushed out some
crab claws and he is shot on sight - only 1 pic.

Old warrior from last year back - 1 long horn on one side and solid on other side

An old 8 is back - min of 5

I think another good one will show up. Got a few solid 8s and high rack 6. Only giant rack and giant body r the 2 i shoot right now - missing first month devastating. Had chance at 13 pt friday of muzzy cause that where i would hav sat. Blacks i drive thru hav bow targets etc and home made feeders out n yard - they in position to cut me off - they hav no land😀

Best year ever n clark due to giant horn deer and giant body deer. And the 10 not on list most would shoot

Camden sucks balls - aint shot buck there in 5 years - i got somebody cutting me off - still got lot of hoes

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

Just about like last year imo (great). What is odd is the # of good deer using greenfields. I have a buddy that sends me pics weekly of 3.5+ bucks in his greenfields in broad daylight. That’s not the norm for us (here). We’ve seen quite a few ourselves. It doesn’t add up, good deer movement, cooler weather but lower deer harvest? My bunch could have killed 3 good deer already, with a little luck, plus 3 does so far.

Our place has good, consistent traffic. Some young, some 3 yo. I haven’t seen anything larger/older but I’ve only been catching camera pics for 3 weeks

I'm pleased with the amount and quality of the deer on my property and the area in general. That's all I got to say about that.

Fayette county. Having one of the best years in recent history. Seeing plenty of deer. I finished my season on 11/30, except for more doe killing, one son has killed a really good deer and the other son has had some great hunts without pulling the trigger yet.

Right now Fayette Co is on pace to have both the lowest buck and doe harvest its had in the last 6 years…..Not my opinion, just what the numbers show…..

And if you’re conclusion is that Fayette countians have over harvested deer, you would be so far off it’s not even funny.

I’ve only hunted once and left early to help my son drag a doe out. I think I saw 12-14. Definitely no lack of deer based on the browse pressure on my plots. Monroe County. All of my cameras are under big water oaks with the food plots in sight. They are definitely spending a lot of time under those oaks. I got 3,500 pictures in November on 4 cameras. No bait.

Deer numbers on the north Perry farm are fairly low and stable, just like I like ‘em

Dekalb and Jackson. I’d say numbers here are fairly stable, if not increased. The quality is pretty much on par with what it’s been for the last several years.
