Iām sorry Narrow Gap. Iām pretty passionate about this. And I do like to argue. It just pushes my buttons when someone would rather penalize someone for success rather than do what it takes to compete with them.
But Iām not going to change anyoneās mind I donāt know why I argue about it. Iām not a smart man š

Gotta say I don't understand the private school hate on here. I went to Mobile this weekend to watch my grandson play in a 4th grade basketball game for his Christian school. ( A big 19-10 victory and he led the scoring with 7 points. ) I really doubt that there is a public school gym in the state as bad as the one where the game was played. That's what happens when you don't get any tax money. I just can't see how anyone thinks the private schools have an advantage in anything. It takes so much for a school to even function without any government support.
Long ago I attended a public school through the 10th grade. Our facility was old, but we had a good gym and an Ag shop. I got to play in the AHSAA state tournament in Tuscaloosa and looked forward to trying to make it back the next year. But my family moved to another town and they sent me to an AISA school because the public school there was so bad. It was a drastic change for me. The private school didn't even have a gym and we played our games in the local armory on a concrete floor. Everything about the experience was inferior to public school due to the facilities difference. I got to play in another state tournament, but it was held in the Morgan Academy gym because they were one of the few private schools that had a decent gym.
There are still a lot of places in the state that have public schools that are good enough to send your kids to them, but there's many places that aren't. Be thankful if you are one of the lucky ones.
Itās in our DNA to pull for the underdog and frown upon the privileged. Victimhood so to speak. People project themselves into circumstances and that aspect is promoted in our society these days. Itās all about agendas.

When hard times hit we donāt have time for all the gaslighting and strawman arguments. We use those to create narratives to promote our personal biases.
The roaring twenties brought the hard times of the 1930s and the good times of the 60-70s brought the hard times of the late 70s early 80s.
