The SEC title game has served its purpose.
With the playoff and perhaps expanding the playoffs to 16 teams, none of the conference championship games are really needed anymore. It's time for them to go. I agree but thats a lot of revenue for some greedy folks to let go… The conference champ games are money makers, so they wont go away. Also, for the James Madison's and other small schools the conference champ games give them a shot in the big playoffs. How many times have we seen an undefeated small school be left out of a shot at the National title?

There is a lot to digest in the Bama situation. 1) They were good enough to make the SEC Championship Game, Quite an accomplishment in the SEC. 2) Should Alabama be punished for playing in an extra game that honestly means nothing other than make the SEC money? 3) Shouldnt strength of schedule be brought into the conversation? 4) Alabama beat Georgia in Athens (5) if there wasnt a meaningless Championship game, they would be in the playoff and this wouldnt even be discussed. Lastly, take the starting RB, TE, 2 all SEC DL and a DB out and it changes things with any team.
With all that being said, I didnt think Bama could beat Georgia 2 times in a season especially with all the injuries. No, Im not a homer, I went to Auburn, kids graduated from Bama. Just trying to look at this objectively, The older I get the less important football has become. I dont get bent out of shape when a bunch of spoiled 18-20 year olds making more money than I ever have lose a football game.

I disagree Davy. NFL regular season is 17 games over 18 weeks. Now that college players are paid professional mercenaries and college coaches are all now $6-13 million dollar men, it’s no longer about school pride, or devotion to your team and coaches. Maybe it’s time they started doing some extra work to earn that all money they are now being given. Break the college divisions up and structure it like the NFL. Have 4 conferences, with 2 divisions in each conference. There are 136 FBS schools which would be 17 teams per division. With 17 game schedules, you play 12 division games and 5 out of division. Also helps the smaller schools that are currently locked out by the power 4 conferences (which have separated themselves and control 95% of the money in college football) with being able to get access to money and become more competitive themselves. They’ve been locked out and left behind under the current structure. It’s a business. Treat it as such. These players are all now paid employees so use them as such.

WEW, That’s more on Kirby screwing himself than anything Deboer has done to out coach him. I honestly haven’t seen Deboer do anything on the sideline in any game that made me say “wow, that was a great call”. I feel that he’s a decent/good coach but to consistently finish on top in the SEC, you have to be whole lot better than what he’s shown so far. If it isn’t fixed next year, his days in T-town are numbered. The 4th and 2 against the barn, maybe? That call was pure desperation and an easy call. He knew if he didn’t go for it and get it, that AU was going to get the ball, score in the last minute, win the game, and sign his pink slip for him right after the game as they were rolling Toomers. Lol. We can agree to disagree; defense was playing well. 9-10 coaches take the 3. Gutsy call. Great throw by Ty. Bet you wouldn't be so generous with praise if it hadn't worked . That's a desperate hero or 0 call. If that's the best on the field coaching he's done all season , Bama needs to show him the door. AU tried all night to give Bama the game and they almost didn't take it.

Bama has gone for more 4th downs and completed a higher percentage than any team in the top 25. 3-3 in that game

Based on the season I'd say Indiana has proven themselves the best team in the country. The new season starts now. Just this past season no one gave OSU a chance before the CFB playoffs started and then they went on a run right onto win the CFB championship.

(Based on the way they've been playing towards the end of the season.) The thing the team has to do at this point is to treat the playoffs like a whole other season. It's like they were on death row and all the sudden got their sentence commuted by the Governor.

4 games - big time opponents --- no run game, whoops, even less than no run game --- can't protect a qb --- qb that can't hit a long ball ----- Yeah, I'm a Bama fan and not seeing that.

Bama is only in the playoffs for the TV ratings and everybody knows it.
